BEN'S Q&A
How do you prepare for a gig? Do you get excited? Nervous?
I get excited for every Jukebox performance, i'll double check the running order, then just chill out before we go on stage and read some Phillip Larkin poems.
What's your favourite song that Jukebox performs and why?
It has to be Stevie Wonder's 'Superstition', it is such a timeless classic and one everyone in the audience enjoys so I enjoy it even more.
What song would you like to see Jukebox perform?
I can't wait to perform 'Hey Laura' by Gregory Porter in our next Jukebox Duo performance.
If you could work with one musician dead or alive, who would it be? And you can only choose one!
It has to be Stevie Wonder, the man is a legend!
What's your favourite part of a Wedding?
It has to be the moment we get the party started with our first song. There's nothing better than seeing a crowd bouncing around the dance floor to the music we play.
Your also Jukebox's Venue Liaison and Technical Administrator what does your role involve and how does it benefit the client?
I ensure that the venue is all ok with our requirements, i.e. staging plans, power supply and all the other technical aspects which are key to a Jukebox performance. This ensures that the client does not have to worry about contacting the venue to discuss band requirements as I will see to these issues. I also ensure that all our gear is up to date, is in full working order and is the best in the market. Because the best musicians need the best equipment!
In your opinion what's the best thing about Jukebox and how do we differ from your normal function bands?
The best thing about Jukebox from other bands I have worked with is the sheer passion and energy in what we do and this shows with each gig, we leave the crowd begging for more! The variety of different line ups we have on offer from duo's to a full twelve piece party band really sets us apart from the competition.
What are you looking forward to most with Jukebox in 2014?
I'm looking forward to our performance at the National Wedding Show in October, the opportunity to meet lots of brides and grooms to be, showcase our talents and what we have to offer, it will be a fantastic weekend. Oh and of course all the weddings, corporate events and functions we have booked in!
